Former UAF goalie signs with the Bruins

FAIRBANKS, AK-On a final note this evening former Nanook goaltender Chad Johnson is going to the Boston Bruins.

Johnson in his eighth professional season agreed to a one year one-way contract with the Stanley Cup Finals team for 600K. He'll look to be the main backup for Boston's Tuuka Rask.

Last season Johnson appeared in four games with the Phoenix Coyotes going unbeaten, 2-0-2, including a shutout and was 95 percent on saves. He's played six other NHL games with the Rangers.

The former UAF netminder has played in the AHL for the Hartford Wolfpack, Connecticut Whale and Portland Pirates.

Johnson's seven shutouts during his 79 game career, is tied for second in UAF history.
