Former AK Territorial Gov Passes Away

FAIRBANKS- A former Alaska territorial governor has died after being been injured in a fall. Mike Stepovich was hospitalized in San Diego and passed away at 3 am this morning, surrounded by family. His son, Fairbanks attorney Michael Stepovich, said that his 94-year-old father was injured Saturday night while visiting another son, and suffered a head injury. President Eisenhower appointed the elder Stepovich as Alaska's territorial governor in 1957.
