FNSB Schools set legislative priorities

Yesterday,  officials at the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District held their Legislative Committee meeting.
The school board called the meeting to discuss the upcoming legislative session and the issues the Borough Schools would present.
On the main topic, funding, Superintendent Pete Lewis said the school board would discuss and package the capital projects such as the replacement of Ryan Middle School, Tanana Middle School roof, and the completion of Barnett Magnet School.
However, Lewis told Newscenter 11 "There are a lot of unknowns, and so at this point and time we are trying to position to make sure the resources are there that you need to do your job each and every day, not only at the state level but also at the federal level in terms of what is going on with ... And trying to address and deal with all of those needs and with the potential situation of the movement of the squadron from Eielson."
