FAIRBANKS- The current owner of the North Pole refinery spoke out against the governor's position on the cleanup of contaminated soil, yesterday. Governor Sean Parnell says the company, which plans to close the plant this summer, has tried to shift blame to previous owners, and the state. He says, new owners won't be responsible for groundwater contamination that leaked from the refinery. The CEO of Flint Hills Resources, Brad Razook says, it makes a sale impossible because it will be difficult to distinguish between new and old spills. He said Flint Hills would be liable for anything spilled by new owners.
