Firefighters continue work on Stuart Creek Fire

With yesterday's warming trend, activity on the Stuart Creek 2 fire increased as anticipated with some isolated flare-ups along with single and small group torching inside the fire's perimeter. However fire perimeter growth was minimal as containment lines continue to hold.

As of this morning, The Stuart Creek Fire had not increased in size in the previous 24hours.

Some increase in fire activity is anticipated but perimeter growth is projected to be minimal.

Firefighters will continue to construct direct hand and dozer lines as well as mop-up hot spots along fire lines.

Alaska State Troopers remain in the area.

Construction and preparation of contingency plans will continue.

Residents of Pleasant Valley and Two Rivers remain in an evacuation watch as structure protection engines and hose lines remain in place.
