FAIRBANKS- Native students and other organizations at UAF established the Fairbanks Festival of Native Arts in 1973. The festival now features native dance groups from across the state and the nation. This weekend, UAF will host the 41st annual Festival of Native Arts starting Wednesday and running through Saturday. Dozens of performance groups and artisans are expected to participate this year. There will also be a craft bazaar located in the Great Hall, with 30 different vendors, specializing in arts and crafts from indigenous cultures. The festival starts tomorrow at 7 p.m. with an indigenous open mic night.
