FAIRBANKS- Alaskan restaurants may serve more local greens, meats, and poultry thanks to the Division of Agriculture. The agency recently published the Farm to Restaurant Fact Sheet which helps local farmers understand how to sell their food to restaurants. The document is brief and provides guidelines and quality requirements for common products, such as vegetables, meats, eggs, and poultry. The Agency has a rewards program that reimburses restaurants for buying locally grown food. Officials say, Alaskan- grown food is becoming popular, and the fact sheet could increase the supply.
