Fairbanks Police respond to shots fired call involving active duty soldiers

Fairbanks Police responded to a shooting this weekend involving three Fort Wainwright soldiers.

According to Police the call came in at 2am on February 14th on the 1400 block of Lathrop Street.

Upon arrival three active duty Fort Wainwright soldiers admitted to discharging 2 separate firearms in the roadway in front of the residence.

Police seized 3 semi automatic handguns from the soldiers at the scene and say that alcohol was a factor in the incident.

A neighbor reported this morning that her vehicle had bullet holes and was damaged in the shooting.

The DA office is reviewing weapons offense charges against the three suspects involved in this case; the Newscenter will have more details as they become available.
