Fairbanks murder trial gets underway Wednesday in Superior Court.

After almost two years of legal wrangling and delays, the First Degree Murder trial of a 21 year old Fairbanks man is set to get underway with jury selection Wednesday morning in Superior

Court.

Jacques Lisbey is accused of shooting 20 year old Malik Moore to death on August 2, 2011.

Alaska State Troopers say the two men were friends, and that the shooting transpired over an alleged dispute involving a female acquaintance.

They say Lisbey shot Moore multiple times after Moore had made threats to Kweka Warner, a woman Lisbey had been involved with.

They say Lisbey managed to flee the scene shortly after shooting Moore, who was found in a wooded area near the Sandvik Apartments off University Avenue.

Lisbey turned himself into Troopers hours later.

He faces a maximum life prison term if convicted.
