Fairbanks family sets essay contest to win their home

Laurel and Gordon Carlin of Fairbanks have found a unique way to sell their home.

They are not putting their home on the market instead they have set a nationwide essay contest and the winner chosen will get the home for the cost of the entry, which is one-hundred dollars.

The family will  then choose the top 10 finalists and then post them to their Facebook page.

The essay with the most "likes" will receive the home.

They need at least 3 thousand entries for the contest to be held and the close date for entering is April 30th.

The maximum number they will allow entered is 35 hundred essays.
