FAIRBANKS- Down at Ester Park, The Ester Community Association barbecued 600 hotdogs and hamburgers, and the volunteer fire department cooked an entire pig. The main attraction however, was the annual parade that meandered down Main Street. The Red Hackle Pipe Band started the parade and was followed by people wearing wild costumes and carrying political signs. Judges gave trophies to the best dressed and there was even a living-breathing Miss Piggy To cheer on participants. Organizers say their event is geared for the kids but fun for adults.
