The cities of North Pole and Fairbanks, as well as the Fairbanks North Star Borough, will be the first in the state to implement the Smart911 Network.
Smart911 allows citizens to create a Safety Profile of vital personal and household data which can be immediately viewed by 9–1–1 call takers when citizens place an emergency call.
The Safety Profile can include household members and pets, photos, medications of medical conditions and other information pertinent for appropriate response by emergency responders.
Smart911 is a free service available to all residents and is 100 percent private and secure.
Emergency Operations officials will demonstrate the service to members of the media today.
Newscenter 11 will have more on this service tonight on the Fairbanks Evening News.
