Economy tough on local non-profit

 

After 21 years of community service, the Alaska Bird Observatory here in Fairbanks will be closing its doors.

Staff, board members, and volunteers who have been there for years have begun to pack up the offices and gift shop in preparation to close the business.

With the recession, many local businesses have been forced to close their doors, and this Non Profit organization says, they had no other choice.

It is a sad situation, as the economy has continued to go down and the costs of running a business have been no the rise

But, they say this is not the last you will hear from those who love ABO.
