Alaska State Troopers say a 48 year old Delta Junction woman was killed late Sunday in a motorcycle accident on the Alaska Highway.
In a news release, troopers received a report of the accident around 4:45 p.m. when a motorist came upon a deceased woman and wrecked motorcycle along the highway
at Milepost 1362.5.
The woman was identified as Gail Ericksen.
Fairbanks-based Troopers from the Bureau of Highway Patrol, and rural unit Troopers responded to the crash to investigate.
They say that Ericksen was attempting to negotiate a corner when she struck a guard rail and was thrown from the motorcycle.
Troopers say Ericksen was wearing appropriate safety gear at the time of the wreck.
Her Next of Kin have been notified.
