Day one of the FGA Senior Amateur Championship starts

FAIRBANKS, AK-If you woke up and wondered where your mom or dad was. Or couldn't find you grandma or grandpa. There were probably at the golf course.

The early risers had tee times at eight this morning on the Fairbanks Golf Course for the start of the 26th Annual Fairbanks Golf Association Seniors Amateur Championship. Golfers 50 or older took part in the flights on the nine-hole course.

Some guy called Mike Shultz on has a one stroke lead at 76 over Bill Renfrew in the men's championship flight despite missing a putt here on 14. Tom Chadwick leads the men's first flight at 78. Steve Kunz leads the second flight at 85.

For the ladies Connie Johnson is in the lead in the championship flight with an 85. Sally Ross is on top in the first flight with a 97.

Competition continues tomorrow at North Star Golf Club and concludes Sunday at Chena Bend Golf Course.
