Shortly before midnight last night, the Fairbanks City Council voted to approve a new 2014 budget.
The total general fund and capital appropriation came to a little over 37 million dollars, and passed unanimously.
One of the main issues was whether or not to continue jobs of people who are paid with grants that are expiring.
Three firefighter’s positions would be lost because the money for their positions is running out in April.
However, mayor John Eberhart voted to keep them, when the council, in a three to three tie vote, couldn't decide.
