Competitive leaderboard after day one of State Golf Amateur

FORT WAINWRIGHT-Yesterday was the first day of the Alaska State Amateur Golf Tournament. It's the first time Interior is hosting the state amateur. 98 golfers will be teeing off all four rounds at the Chena Bend Golf Course on Fort Wainwright.

At day's end, Adam Baxter, coming off of his fifth FGA Amateur championship, went four over today for a 76 in the men's championship flight. Baxter is tied with four others in fourth.

David Hamilton and Scott Woodland are tied at one over for the championship flight lead both have a 73. It's close in men's first flight with Mike Sullivan (77) holding a one stroke lead over Tom Lawson (78).

In the women's championship flight Terri McAngus shot a 76 and is up eight strokes ahead of Teresa Fisher who is in second place.

The Amateur continues tomorrow at 8 am and runs through Sunday at Chena Bend Golf Course.
