Commission rules on fines for Stiver Campaign

The Alaska Public Offices Commission has ruled that former Fairbanks Mayoral candidate Vivian Stiver and the corporation that owns the Ranch Motel pay a fine.

The amount of the fine has been reduced from the recommended 13 hundred dollars each to a final amount of 650 dollars each.

The commissioners decided that the violation didn't warrant such a large fine, ultimately deciding on that amount.

However, they did rule that it violated campaign finance law in fall by using corporate resources, motel office, and staff to accept contributions to the Stiver campaign.
