A Grand Jury has upgraded a charge against the Healy man accused of killing a woman with his truck and then leaving the scene of the accident.
30-year-old Dustin Dollarhide was originally charged with manslaughter after allegedly hitting bicyclist Gitte Stryhn and then leaving her dead on the side of the road.
However, on Friday that charge was upgraded to murder in the second degree.
Dollarhide is also facing numerous other charges from the hit-and-run accident, including driving under the influence.
Court documents say Dollarhide told troopers he remembered thinking that if he went home and went to bed, the incident "would go away."
He is being held at Fairbanks Correctional Center without bail.
