Car Chase in Fairbanks

 

TWO POSSIBLE SUSPECTS WERE DETAINED BY CITY POLICE Saturday AFTER ELUDING OFFICERS THROUGH TOWN in a stolen car.
 
A HOST OF FAIRBANKS POLICE OFFICERS TRACKED THE STOLEN MERCURY SEDAN THROUGH TOWN JUST AFTER 3 P.M. Saturday.
 
ACCORDING TO SERGEANT KURT LOCKWOOD, WHILE BEING PURSUED, THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE CAUSING IT TO RUN UP ON A SNOWBANK AT THE INTERSECTION OF VAN HORN ROAD AND EASY STREET.
 
NO ONE WAS INJURED IN THE INCIDENT.
 
SERGEANT LOCKWOOD told Newscenter 11 "The Vehicle appears at this point and time appears tried to elude officers, briefly went around an icy patch and put their vehicle up in a snow bank, no ones injured, both occupants of the vehicle fled on foot and both were apprehended and short time frame nearby no one again is injured everyone's okay the car we returned to the owner but I think theres just some other issues that we're looking at out of the car I believe one of the passengers had a warrant and we might need to ask them a few more questions"
