Bruins freeze Ice Dogs

AUSTIN, MINN-The Ice Dogs fall 2-1 to the Austin Bruins tonight. After a scoreless first period Jacob Hetz put the Ice Dogs on the board first just 56 seconds into the second stanza.

The Bruins answered late with Jake Arroyo's goal coming with 31 seconds left in the period to tie the game at one.

Then early in the final period Brian Bachnak scored the game winner for Austin after 2:02 ticked off the clock.

Fairbanks loss despite outshooting Austin 32-18 and had a 28-10 shots on goal advantage going into the third.

The loss also drops them out the Midwest division lead and gives way to the Minneosta Wilderness who beat the Janesville Jets tonight.

The Ice Dogs have lost four of their last five outings. Tomorrow they stay in Minnesota to take on the Minnesota Wilderness in Richfield, Minn. The puck drops at 4:05 p.m. AKDT.
