Late Wednesday afternoon a federal jury said it was unable to reach a verdict in the Civil lawsuit trial involving two former Fairbanks Police Officers
who said they were improperly fired.
Former Lieutenant Doug Whorton, and Officer Al Hutton were seeking compensation for lost wages and benefits, as well as punitive damages.
They argued they were dismissed in retaliation for going to former Fairbanks City Mayor Terry Strle in 2008 to talk about workplace safety,
union business and nepotism in the department.
Strle said the men aired concerns about they bosses instead.
It's not yet known if the case will be re-tried.
