Alaska State Troopers are investigating a large–scale theft that took place early yesterday morning at Pikes Landing Restaurant, an incident employees say was caught on–camera.
Just after 5:30am yesterday,Troopers received a call from a Pike's Landing employee stating that the restaurant had been broken into over night and a safe had been stolen.
Employees say three or four masked suspects are seen dragging the safe to the door and then destroying a surveillance camera when they realized their actions were being recorded.
They then put the safe into a white Dodge pickup truck and left the scene.
Long–time employee, and head Chef, Jeffery Brooks says any help from the public would be greatly appreciated.
News Center 11 also spoke with Pikes Landing owner Jay Ramras about the incident.
Ramras says the suspects were able to escape with about 8–THOUSAND DOLLARS in cash and other currency from the safe he described as "very old."
Ramras also says it would be near impossible for the suspects to get the safe open.
