Body Found in Burned Apartment Building

FAIRBANKS- Fire Fighters say they recovered a body from the rubble of a two-story building that burned yesterday morning on Geraghty Avenue. Right now, the Fairbanks Fire Department has few other facts and it could take weeks to learn details regarding the fire. The body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office to determine the I.D. and the cause of death, but fire fighters believe the person died on the second floor of the apartment complex. Several people on social media are speculating about the identity of the person or the cause of the fire, but the Deputy Chief Fire Marshal for the City of Fairbanks, Ernie Misewicz, says it’s far too early for them to say.
