The Big C Relays end with solid numbers from interior athletes

FAIRBANKS, AK-The results from Big C Relays in Anchorage, the opening track event of the season, are in. There were 40 schools and over 900 track and field athletes and the interior teams represented well.

No surprise but Lathrop's Tevin Gladden cleared 6 feet two inches to win the high jump. Fellow Malemute Desmond Hunter took third in the 100 meter dash with a 11.46 second time. Damian Coger also of Lathrop placed fourth in the shot put.

In the Pentathlon Monroe's Macala Fifield was first in the 800 meters finishing in two minutes 29 seconds. Fifield also took second in the 100 meters and the shot put.

Eielson Raven's girls 4 by 100 relay team of Jazzmyn Williams, Evonne Johnson, Emileigh Stadler and Marisa Sanders took fourth with a 55.48 second time.

In the girls 1600 sprint medley Lathrop's Allison Hebard, Brooke Lizotte, Karli Fitzgerald, and Tahnee Raymond placed fourth finishing in just under four minutes and 39 seconds.

The next rack meet is scheduled for this weekend at North Pole High School for the Mini B meet.
