This weekend folks will be knocking down pins and making a difference. It's Big Brother's Big Sister's Annual Fundraiser; Bowl for Kids’ Sake.
The money they raise supports programs around the state and this year the goal is to do even better than the last year.
There are different ways bowlers raise money; some gather donations, while others pledge money based on their scores.
Although Big Brother's Big Sister's consists of many volunteers, this is the biggest fundraiser to help support their program.
Development Director, Lori Wilson said, “"All the money goes directly in to support our program. There is the misperception that you're a volunteer organization because we have Big Brother's and Big Sister's that volunteer their time. However, we have match support specialists that support that, we have professional who are always there to support you, we have professionals who are there for you for the matches to see how they are going, looking for child safety, to help if there are ever any communication issues, background checks to make sure we are making good matches, and that takes people."
At the event there will be prizes, including airline tickets to go to the person who raises the most funds.
Also, DJ ATM will be spinning live music at the family event.
