Bad car accident yesterday

AN UNIDENTIFIED 27–YEAR OLD WOMAN WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED LATE yesterday AFTERNOON IN A TWO–VEHICLE ACCIDENT AT ONE OF THE CITY'S DEADLIEST INTERSECTIONS.

FAIRBANKS CITY FIRE AND RESCUE, ALONG WITH THE FAIRBANKS POLICE AND ALASKA STATE TROOPERS GOT THE CALL AROUND 4–30 P.M. RESPONDING TO THE INTERSECTION OF DANBY AND THE JOHANSON EXPRESSWAY.

EYEWITNESSES AT THE SCENE SAY A LATE MODEL FORD FOCUS DROVE INTO THE INTERSECTION AND WAS STRUCK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BY A FORD VAN.

THE FEMALE PASSENGER IN THE FORD FOCUS WAS TRANSPORTED TO FAIRBANKS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL.

NEITHER DRIVER WAS INJURED IN THE ACCIDENT.

WITNESSES SAY TRAFFIC SIGNALS IN ALL DIRECTIONS OF THE INTERSECTION WERE NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY, AND APPARENTLY PLAYED A ROLE IN THE ACCIDENT.
