Authorities investigate shooting incident in South Fairbanks.

Fairbanks Police are investigating a shooting incident that took place in the South Fairbanks area, and resulted in the arrest of one man, but no injuries.

According to Lt. Dan Welborn, the incident took place around 9 a.m. Thursday near the area of 1516 16th Avenue.

He says two suspects fired multiple shots, and escaped in a gold-colored sport utility vehicle.

Welborn says the vehicle was later found abandoned by the Alaska State Troopers, and discovered it to be stolen.

During their investigation, police also questioned one man at the scene of the shooting.

That man, identified as Etienne Devoe of Fairbanks, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Welborn says it's unknown at this time what role Devoe played in the shooting, if any.

A motive for the shooting remains unclear, according to Welborn,, but residents living in the immediate area say the shooting may have been drug related.

This is a developing story.
