Army looks at new technology to monitor fires

The army announced this past week the results of its investigation of the Stuart Creek two fire, and things they are doing to keep something like it from happening again.

One thing they are looking at is using unmanned aerial vehicles  to better be able to monitor fires that are located in isolated areas.

The University of Alaska  Fairbanks has a U-A-V program, and U-S Army Alaska  is interested in collaborating with the university to use the technology.
