APOC says City Mayor violated campaign laws

The State Public Offices Commission says Fairbanks City Mayor John Eberhart violated campaign finance regulations.

APOC is ordering Eberhart to pay 2 thousand, 884 dollars in fines.

He was also directed to reimburse his former employer, Tanana Chiefs' Conference, 384 dollars,  for using phones and copy machines there for his campaign.

The fines are in connection with last year's municipal election, in which Eberhart beat Vivian Stiver.

APOC had fined Stiver previously for campaign law violations.

Eberhart has 30 days to appeal the ruling.
