Apartment Fire Injures Several Residents

FAIRBANKS- Fire crews and emergency responders rescued several residents from a burning apartment building on Geraghty Street this morning at 4 am. It is still unclear how many people were injured, but fire fighters say injuries included smoke inhalation and serious burns. One person was sent via medivac to Anchorage for treatment. University Fire Department, rescued a family of five out a back window while the building burned. The owner of the building, Monica Carney, says there were 25 residents or more living in the 19 apartment units. We will update this story as information becomes available.
