Another Bad Accident @ Johannsen and Steese

 

ONE PERSON WAS TAKEN TO FAIRBANKS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL WITH SERIOUS INJURIES AFTER A TWO–VEHICLE ACCIDENT THAT SNARLED TRAFFIC IN ONE OF THE CITY'S BUSIEST INTERSECTIONS.

FAIRBANKS CITY POLICE AND FIRE PERSONNEL GOT THE CALL AROUND 4–30 YESTERDAY AFTERNOON RESPONDING TO THE INTERSECTION OF THE STEESE AND JOHANSON EXPRESSWAYS.
 

POLICE SAY DETAILES OF THE CRASH WERE STILL UNCLEAR AS OF NEWS TIME, BUT A LATE MODEL FORD F–150 PICKUP, AND A TOYOTA PICKUP COLLIDED IN THE INTERSECTION, SENDING THE FORD INTO A TRAFFIC POLE, AND NEARLY KNOCKING THE POLE DOWN INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
 

THE UNIDENTIFIED DRIVER OF THE FORD WAS THE MOST SERIOUSLY INJURED.
 

AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE CRASH CONTINUES.
 

FAIRBANKS POLICE SERGEANT JEROMEY LINDHAG ISSUED CAUTION TO THE PUBLIC WHILE TRAVELING THE ROADWAYS, SAYING THE END RESULT OF THIS ACCIDENT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE.
