FAIRBANKS-The Alaska Nanook hockey team announced its first two signing of the signing period to the team today. A pair of teammates from the Waterloo BlackHawks of the USHL, forwards Peter Krieger and Austin Vieth signed NLIs to UAF.

Vieth and Krieger helped the Blackhawks get the Western Conference top seed in the USHL with a 44-11-5 record.

Krieger was an all NAHL Rookie first teamer with the Aberdeen Wings. So far he's tallied 121 points in 119 games for Waterloo.

Vieth has 23 points in 93 career games for the Blackhawks with 12 points in 13 games with the NAHL Janesville Jets.

Head coach Dallas Ferguson in a press release said that he likes Krieger's versatility of being able to play left wing and center and his consistency. The bench boss also said Vieth's speed skating skills and work ethic match UAF's style of play.

Krieger plans to major in justice and Vieth in business administration.
