Alaska hockey gets three players including Munson of Fairbanks

FAIRBANKS-The college sigining period continues for high school student athletes and colleges and universities reloading their rosters. UAF's athletic programs have picked up a number of players in the last couple of days.

The Alaska hockey program officially announced three new players coming this fall in the last 24 hours. Today Fairbanks' own Tayler Munson will finally suit up for the Nanooks. He committed a few seasons ago and in five years of junior hockey mostly with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs he has 187 points in 231 total career games including a season high 58 this season for the first place Ice Dogs. He'll join former teammates Alex Hajduckovich, Jared Linnell, Justin Woods, and Jared Larson.

Zach Frye, a BCHL, USHL, and former Wentachee Wild defenseman signed with the Nooks. Last season for the USHL Lincoln Stars he had a career high 27 points.

Forward Colton Sparrow comes over after 4 years with the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL. Sparrow also had a career high 34 points this year. He is a former teammate of Alaska's Freshman of the Year Marcus Basara.

Munson will be a general studies major while Sparrow and Frye will be in business admin.
