ANCHORAGE-The Alaska Goldpanners had their second game of the 2014 season last night in Anchorage and suffered their second loss. The Anchorage Glacier Pilots came away with a 4-2 win over the Panners.
Cameron Pongs got the win for the Pilots throwing six Ks, a walk, and gave up one hit in three innings.He got the win. Nate Nolan had three rbis for the Pilots as well.
Mike Weiland scored both of Alaska's runs and hit a single and double. Scooter Bynum contributed an rbi.
The Panners have the day off and then they will have their first home game of the season tomorrow night at Growden Memorial Park hosting the San Francisco Seals-a non-league opponent. That opener which begins at 7 p.m., starts a five day, five game home series with the Seals who are 1-3. The Seals play the Anchorage Bucs tonight.
