FAIRBANKS-The UAF men's basketball team picks up three junior college players for next season.

Eric Fongue from Zurich Switzerland comes in from Whatcom Community College. The 6'6" forward put up 11.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game and shot 44 percent from three as Whatcom won the North Region Title of the NWAACC.

Isacc LaDines brings some size. The 6'8" center is from Arlington, Washington and last year averaged 7.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, shooting 57 percent Skagit CC.

Then you have Rueben Silvas from Sells, Arizona. Last year with Tohono O'odham CC the 6'3" guard was Mr. Efficient shooting 56 percent from the floor and 47 percent from distance, averaging 11.6 points, five boards and two steals per game.

Silvas is a significant signing because not only is he from the same conference in Arizona that Andrew Kelly came from but he is the first of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe to land a college basketball scholarship.
