FAIRBANKS, AK--The Fairbanks North Star Borough Air Quality Program has issued an air quality advisory for Fairbanks and North Pole, in effect until 5 PM Thursday.
Current air quality in Fairbanks and North Pole is classified as unhealthy for sensitive groups and exceeds the EPA health limit for fine particulate pollution. People with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly, and children should limit prolonged exertion and stay indoors when possible. The pattern of overnight inversions and poor air quality from 10 PM to 11 AM each day will continue through 5 PM Thursday.
