FAIRBANKS- Officials at UAF are reducing barriers that stop some residents from taking college courses, specifically the price. The Community Adventure in Lifelong Learning or CALL lets people audit Summer Session courses for $100. This means you can participate in every lecture, but you will not earn college credit for the course. There are 42 classes in the CALL program covering diverse subjects like documentary filmmaking or Natural history of Alaska. The Director of Summer Sessions, Michelle Bartlett says a friend inspired the idea, when he said he wanted to take classes for fun, but couldn’t afford to register.
Registration is open for summer classes. For more information, call Summer Sessions at 474-7021 or find them on the web: uaf.edu/summer
