Aerial searchers spotted the wreckage of the missing Cessna plane today.
It has been confirmed three people, including a child were found dead in the wreckage.
The Cessna 182 had left from Anchorage Monday for Takotna, a village on the route of the Iditarod sled dog race.
Once the plane had not landed on time it was reported to officials who spotted the wreckage this morning near Rainy Pass.
Alaska State Troopers have identified those killed as pilot Ted Smith, 59, Carolyn Sorvoja, 48, and Rosemarie Sorvoja, 10.
All were identified as residents of Eagle River.
