15 Nanooks garner conference academic awards

FAIRBANKS, AK-This week 15 Nanooks received GNAC Faculty Athletic Representative Scholar Athlete Awards. A student has to have at least a 3.85 GPA to qualify and of the 15 Nanooks selected seven were repeat honorees.

Theresia Schnurr and Michael Fehrenback of the cross country teams had 4.0 to lead the Nanook contingent. Schnurr and Fehrenbach are two of 14 in the conference to have a 4.0.

139 students received this award from around the GNAC. UAF was fifth with 14 selections. Montana State Billings led all schools with 21 award recipients.

The Nanooks were represented in cross country, skiing, rifle, men's basketball, swimming and hockey.
