Alaska Broadcaster Monte Bowen retires

Alaska broadcaster, Monte Bowen, is retiring after 46 years in the news business. We hear from friends and colleagues about Bowen's history of reporting Alaska news.


Fairbanks Mayor Jim Matherly has nominated Jonathan Bagwill to fill the vacant seat on City Council. The Council will vote whether or not to accept Bagwill's nomination on Monday.


The US House passed a bill Thursday that will allow construction of a road from King Cove to Cold Bay. The road would cut through an 11-mile stretch of the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge.
